I’m feeling ready for June. I hope you are, too!
This month, I plan to write some words. Those words will be part of my upcoming book.
Why did I set myself a crazy deadline and tell you all that the book is coming out in 4 months??
Well, it worked for me last year when I wrote my first book, so I am going for it again.
What are you up to this summer - professionally and personally?

If you are new to Evolve Lactation, please accept my warmest welcome! This space is built to support you as you move through the world of supporting breastfeeding.
I believe that being an IBCLC is a noble calling and that everyone who has contact with pregnant and breastfeeding people has a solemn responsibility to protect, promote and support breastfeeding.
If you have a question, a request, or a conversation that you’d like to have about human lactation, please feel free to reach out - I’m always up for meeting and sharing!
In case you missed these, here are a couple of my most popular articles from the past few years:
Lifeboats in Lactation
Imagine if we put people in lifeboats and sent them on their way, barely acknowledging that they would probably need some help learning to row them to shore, and that once they got to shore, they would almost surely need help getting past the rocks and cliffs.
(How to Spot) Fake Lactation Support
Closing the Gap: Ensuring Breastfeeding Support for All - this is the theme of World Breastfeeding Week this year.Evolve Lactation is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
Formula Companies Don't Need Help Advertising
As you know, infant formula companies have a long history of aggressive and underhanded marketing that makes the work of lactation professionals all the more challenging.
Also in May, I announced a really exciting collaboration! Jen Chesna-Buckle, IBCLC and I have an expansive vision for what is next for The First 100 Hours - stay subscribed to be the first to know…
In the meantime, Jen has brought clarity to my brand and content strategy. Every week, she and I meet for an hour (or more!) of creative brainstorming and co-working. It’s been transformative - a real moment of growth for me! Jen is a loving mother, a passionate IBCLC, an enthusiastic vegan chef, and just an overall lovely and fun person.
If you’d like to watch/listen to the whole webinar that I presented recently for USLCA, it is available here.
As always, thank you for everything you do for babies and their parents!
That's wonderful that you are getting into your coursework!! If you have any questions or stuff you want to talk through, I'm here:)
Just resigned from my job as a RN and started the CLC course- hoping to complete it this summer! So I'm with you on summer goals... 😊
